Twenty years ago, Mike Magnuson began providing people a premier financial planning and investment experience. Because he sat on your side of the table for years, not only did he learn how valuable the service is, he saw that he could provide a more comprehensive, higher level of service than what was often being offered. Mike has created financial plans designed to help people get the financial results they need. He helps people focus on what is truly important to them, achieve clarity by thinking issues through, and implement cohesive, personalized solutions.

Time-tested strategies as well as the latest tools, techniques, and judgment are used where appropriate to help you towards achieving your investment return goals, to achieve reductions in your income and estate tax liabilities, to help you understand what it will take to get from your Here to your There, and what it will take for you to retire comfortably ... and remain comfortably retired.

Broad business experience, continuous learning, extensive study on investment behavior and decision making, and always doing what is appropriate for you is what sets him apart.

Mike is a CPA* with more than 25 years experience in individual, corporate and partnership taxation. He holds a M.S. in Taxation from DePaul University and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. He is a graduate of the College of Financial Planning, has excelled in graduate level Investment classes, and has previously served as an Instructor at DePaul University in the CFP® program. Prior to establishing Magnuson Wealth Management, he worked for 16 years as Tax Director for GE Capital.

Mike is married with 3 grown children. He serves as a Trustee on The Palatine Firefighters Pension Board and is the past-President of the Palatine Mens's Civic Club. He is a member of St. Theresa Parish in Palatine, IL, has coached boys travel soccer, served as Treasurer of the Palatine Celtic Soccer Club, coached girls basketball at St. Theresa School, and served as Vice President of the Fremd High School Booster Board.

Mike is a fan of Da Bears (season ticket holder for 44 seasons), Cubs and Blackhawks. He loves college basketball (Notre Dame, Marquette, DePaul, Iowa State) and is an avid warm weather fisherman.
